Systems Administrator

Salary: $46,000 - $71,000 a year
Full time position in our Redding office

The Systems Administrator is responsible for all onsite and remote service and support needs for our customers. This relates to all technology, including workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software. Systems Administrators support Senior Systems Administrators for individual clients and can also be responsible for a client as a lead technician.

    • Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and server and workstation patching

    • Implement and support client local backups, and replication and restore from backup as needed

    • Maintain the integrity of server infrastructure by implementing industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance

    • Technical implementation and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security

    • Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN and Terminal Services

    • Develop and maintain documentation about current environment setup, standard operating procedures, and best practices

    • Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices

    • Maintain system backups and perform system restores from backup

    • MS Office (M365) operation and maintenance

    • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and correct hardware and software issues on servers and workstations. Escalate incidents utilizing predetermined metrics

    • Practice server asset management, including maintenance of server component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information

    • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations

    • Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve, and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner

    • Ability to speak to customers in clear terms about new products, different options, and answer any questions regarding those products and options

    • Develop required reports in response to business user and management needs

    • Manage vendors and contractors to secure software products and services

    • Manage the physical environment of the server racks including cable management, documentation, and labeling

    • Have conceptual knowledge of NAS and SAN storage management

    • Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages

    • Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to implement desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives

    • Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers

    • Review IT publications and online materials to remain up to date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry

  • This is a full-time position requiring approximately, e.g., 40 hours per week. You will be working five days per week, eight hours per day. These shifts can be 8 am-5 pm, from Monday to Friday.

Senior Systems Administrator

Salary: $67,000 - $95,000 a year
Full time position in our Redding office

We're looking for a well-rounded and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to assist our team in maintaining server security and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be able to monitor and maintain systems, troubleshoot software and hardware issues, and provide maintenance and performance tuning. This candidate must have a background in Linux administration, data backup procedures and storage management best practices.

    • Senior Systems Administrator: 2 years (Preferred)

    • Professional IT Certifications, such as: CompTIA, Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, SonicWall CSSA, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP
